im new in directx,and currently learning directx tutorials, i want to know if we use directx9, will it covers all the previous directx8,7,6...? so if read tutorial which is the previous directx that i have, will it work?

directx9 is covering the previous versions but some things and moods have been removed from old version.if you learn version 8 then you will find slight differences (such as a new parameter added to the functions prototype,but we would be able to deal with it if you have the directx9 documentation.also you need the directx9 tutorials for learning the new features of course.
