I''ve implemented smooth scrolling into my engine. And I store the map in a two dimensional array (Map[30[30]) when I specify the tiles manually such as :
unsigned char Map[30][30] = { 0,1,0,1,0,0,1,0}
The top row of the map will be scattered with some wall tiles (1) and the rest will be grass (0).
However when I try to load the map from a text file using the following function, my program just quit and stderr.txt contains "Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)"
funtion:
bool LoadMap(unsigned char Map[][30],int index)
{
std::ifstream MapFile("map.txt");
if(!MapFile)
return false;
unsigned char temp = 0;
short xtracker = 0;
short ytracker = 0;
while(!MapFile.eof() && xtracker < index && ytracker < index)
{
MapFile >> temp;
if(temp != ''\n'')
{
Map[xtracker][ytracker] = temp;
xtracker++;
}
else
{
ytracker++;
xtracker = 0;
}
}
MapFile.close();
return true;
}
// Here''s the code in main() which calls the function.
unsigned char Map[30][30];
LoadMap(Map,30);
I''ll also show you my map.txt:

I really have no idea what could be causing this to act up. As far as I know the >> operator skips whitespace, is this correct? Any help would be appreciated.
