Has anyone used theming/visual styles? I''m using standard winAPI and I followed the instructions here on MSDN which were rather simple. However mine don''t seem to work when I attempt to compile the manifest as a resource but fine if it''s in the local directory of the program. My program compiles fine with CREATEPROCESS_MANIFEST_RESOURCE_ID RT_MANIFEST "program.exe.manifest" in the resource file as msdn says but the controls dont show up styled. Any ideas why this could be happening? Thanks.

What programming environment are you using?

I''m using VC++ 6.0. However, as is the case occasionally, MSDN was rather lacking in proper instruction. This tutorial worked fine if you''re using VC++ like I am.

Right, or you could have simply looked in Winuser.h and seen that RT_MANIFEST was to be defined as 24.

yeah I could''ve, but why would I think to do that if msdn itself says "do this and this will work"?

The given instructions on MSDN do in fact work as written, if you do it correctly.
