At first I misread the topic. I have a goatee because I don''t like to shave. I rarley shave the rest of my face either, but my wife doesn''t like it when it gets "bushey".

I am thinking of growing a soul patch... I wanted a vandyke ( a goatee that goes around the whole mouth) but when I grew it it looked HELLA gay on me, but when I started to grow out my soul patch it looked pretty good...

Unless you're Oriental... it's not a racist comment, but oriental guys just tend to be less hairy on average... thus, their attempt at a goatee just often end up looking like a lob-sided 5 o'clock shadow. It's true!

I'm sure there are some exceptions.

But even in that scenario, goatees are sexy :D

Edit: Oooo, I just read Dungeon Master's post. Maybe I am thinking of a vandyke....

y'know, when there's a well-trimmed patch of hair under the nose/ on top of the lip, around the mouth on both sides, under the chin? I mean that kind. That's sexy :D

Me too! I shaved it off during the last summer vacation because it was getting itchy. I looked like a dork so I grew it back right after.

PS: I also have big sideboards. Not elvis-like big but big enough nontheless...

People use Goatee & Vandyke interchangably, but they are two different styles.
