ok. i just got back from thanksgiving break and turned on my computer. everything seemed fine, the BIOS loaded, detected all my drives..the screen goes away as usual, i wait for the windows 2000 loading screen to come up, but nothing happens. the screen just sits there blank.
i restart, try again, over and over. same thing. bios loading screen comes up, everything looks fine, then it goes away and the screen remains blank. so i looked everywhere inside to see if something was wrong, like my RAM or harddrive, but they were all fine.
i was angry so i hit my keyboard while the screen was blank, then suddenly windows started loading. fucking finally. windows loads completely fine, i get to the windows logon prompt, and my keyboard doesn''t work. my mouse works FINE, but the keyboard will NOT work. sigh.
so i reboot again, bios loads, the screen goes blank, i hit a key on my keyboard, windows begins to load...prompt comes up, same thing. what the fuck.
also i tried hitting F8 while windows began loading, and it didn''t accept it. i also tried hitting DEL to goto bios setup during the bios load, but the keyboard doesnt work there either. it ONLY responds to the keyboard during that black screen that will sit there forever until i hit a key, and windows begins to load. before or after that, the keyboard will not work. i''ve tried someone else''s keyboard, and same problem.
and yet my mouse works absolutely fine too. and the keyboard is normal PS/2.
what the FUCK could be causing this? i can''t even log on because i cant delete the word Administrator from the login field without the keyboard.
