Hi all, This may seem like a stupid question, but what is a mesh? I know it''s a terminology thing. But how or what does this represent in OpenGL graphics? I am working (err...trying to work) with the Milkshape 3D ascii text file format and it mentions Meshes: Is it the entire world? Is it the models within the world? My OpenGL Programming Guide book makes no mention of this...I have been out on Google trying to get a definitive answer and I can''t...apparently I''m not putting in the correct search question... tia, adym
Yes it''s a stupid question, but not the most stupid.

A mesh is a colection of point''s and polygons bound together to form whatever shape you desire.

In a mesh you normaly have two things
1. Vertics, or 3d coordinates.
2. polygons, point''s to 3 or more vertics, used for making the actual surface area that usuarly fill the area between the vertics.

When it comes to milkshape, i dunno, fileformat''s are normaly written by stupid people, so what they mean is hard to tell since i havn''t had any experience with milkshape (prsonaly i prefer maya and lightwave).
Try searching the web.
