My head hurts... but that might be because I was banging it on my monitor... anyway. I''m trying to implement the ID3DXFont interface but I get two errors: error C2660: ''D3DXCreateFont'' : function does not take 12 parameters error C2660: ''DrawTextA'' : function does not take 6 parameters Usually, I would say, okay, those functions have too many or too little parameters. This is not the case, as these are the correct numbers of parameters. Here are my calls to the functions: D3DXCreateFont(device,22,0,400,1,false,DEFAULT_CHARSET,OUT_DEFAULT_PRECIS,ANTIALIASED_QUALITY,DEFAULT_PITCH | FF_DONTCARE,"Arial",&font); and: font->DrawText(NULL,intToChar(100),-1,textRect,DT_LEFT | DT_NOCLIP,0xFFFFFFFF); I am starting to get aggrivated with my own stupidity.

Are you sure you''re build environment is setup correctly? It could be using the DirectX 8 headers when you want to be using the DirectX 9 headers. IIRC, the number of parameters on these functions changed from DX8 to DX9.

Yeah, I'm sure. If I wrote 8 somewhere I'd... I'd... oh wait... Direct Input is 8....LOL. But yeah I'm sure I'm using 9.

EDIT:: BTW, the header that the function definition is contained in is d3dx9core.h, which is not d3dx8core.h when I look in my external dependencies.

ID3DXFont changed dramatically between DX9 and the DX9 Summer Update. I would guess that you''re using one of them, but think you''re using the other.
