i was at the nehe site and was looking at the demo contest page.....i went through all the source code trying to get at least one of the demos to compile and i couldn''t get any....everytime i would get a link error for example on the Model Demo by Gyasi Grey i got these linker errors.... Main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _FSOUND_DSP_GetSpectrum@0 Main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _FMUSIC_FreeSong@4 Main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _FMUSIC_StopSong@4 Main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _FSOUND_DSP_SetActive@8 i linked opengl32.lib glu32.lib glaux.lib and opened the source file in application mode so I really don''t know what else it could be any info would be much appreciated

Just a guess here, but the ''FSOUND'' and ''FMUSIC'' errors sound like something from the FMod sound library, perhaps you need the appropriate headers or dll? This could be wrong as C isn''t my language.

Hope this helps.

They are indeed functions of the FMOD library. You''ll need to either include the FMOD lib file in your project, include it via a pragma, or add it to your additional library list.

joeyg2477: the FMOD library should come with a static library file (.lib extension) - add it to the project or include it by adding

#pragma comment(lib, "somelibname.lib")

to your code.

As for the other unresolved externals, the problem is basically the same: you have references to functions which aren''t defined (declared != defined) anywhere in the compiled object or static library files.

This suggests that you''re trying to build an incomplete project - make sure all of the source files are present.

If the code uses an external DLL, you could also try loading the functions from it ( GetProcAddress() ).
