I was thinking of something... If absolute power corrupts absolutly, then if there is a god wouldn''t he be totally evil?

Fish extract oxygen from the water (O from the H2O)
Er, no. They breathe the O2 that''s dissolved in the water.
Methinks aftermath needs to go back to school
goD isn't necessarily evil, it's just corrupted

I don''t see why God would need to be evil. When people get corrupted by power they use it to further their position or amass ill-gotten material goods or something. But you can''t get any better than God''s position. God wants something, He snaps His fingers. There''s no reason why He would turn "evil". But hey, what''s reason and logic against the power of a fortune-cookie cliche?
Jesus saves ... the rest of you take damage.
"A page of history is worth a volume of logic." -- Oliver Wendell Holmes
Evil is part of God, since God is supposed to be everything, good and evil.
It only makes sense, because he created everything.
As for absolute power, ya he is all-powerful. Why would evil corrupt him? Its not greater than him, it a subset of him. It shouldnt affect him at all.
Anyways, that my opinion.

People (well most god beleivers anyway) say that when god made man in his own image, it means he looks human. Probably not. He gave us all power. Maybe not creating universe power (or maybe it did humans only use like 1/8 of their brain power maybe we CAN create worlds) because we can create plants (cross polination) we can create organizisms (viruses and backterium, as well as something I read recently that some scientists have created DNA-less human eggs, not to mention clones) and we are steadily working our way to creating our own elements (molecular engineering) so I think all the nay sayers who believe clones and "playing god" is unnatural, I scoff at you. We *are* gods. Smaller, maybe less effecient than what we thing a god should be but we are the ultimate power in the universe, human kind has come long and far from clothless cave dwellers and every day there is something new we discover, invent, or do to make our lives better. And even the bible says that god (and jesus) used tools to create things (dust and bone for humans, water to wine etc). As the saying goes, "we are masters of our own universe" and I am beginning to take this quite literally.
Power does not corrupt, you crazy people. It just allows corrupt people to show their true selves and get away with it.

What''s your point? "Image" and "Mindset" are not the same thing. Reference Isaiah 55:8.

I don't care about "Isaiah". And if God's creation became evil, it's his own fault. He's a dumbass

Become a Yaverd.
dammit, a bunch of retards.
the proper quote by Lord Acton is as follows:
Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
It is not a definite statement that power currupts a person. It is a statement that it is EASIER for a person to become corrupted IF they have power. Besides, quotations like this are retarded. There is no impericle evidence to support such a claim. No study was made, no data collected. It could be just as likely that power tends to make one generous. Just because a guy said it in 1887 doesn't make it true. Hell, I could say "DakeDesu is a heterosexual" NOW, and it still won't make it true in 2117.
