PHP stuff

Can anyone help me out in creating a template (or locating one) for a php based website where you can go to an administrative page to edit the frequently updated text portions as well as the option to upload some sort of daily picture and or sound file? Pretty much like a commercial blogging site''s template only I would prefer to use PHP since I want to try and learn it, as well as have a MySQL database (no matter how small it may be) on my new web project. Oh and please, no links to google, or the PHP homepage, because I am looking there too and not finding what I want, probably because I don''t know the term for what I am looking for.

Ok, I''m rewriting the story. Well I thought that my day was going to be average until I went to GameCrazy this evening where I *totally* owned this theif... Too bad he almost died, but I am sure they will revive the SoB. I walked in and went over to the side where the GameCube games were and started looking and I noticed some dirty looking stoner like guy (no offence to any non dirty stoner guys) reaching over the glass display counter and grab 2 GameBoy Advance SP''s from the display wall. He looked at them like he was interested in buying, then nervously glanced around and turned and stuffed them into his sweatshirt pocket. then looked right at me, because I was staring at him. Then, I kicked him in the nuts, in slow motion. It was sweet. he stayed in the sotre for a little bit, then went into Hollywood Video, which at this point I told the manager, Jeremy that something was amiss, and then went after the guy. I was on an adreline high the rest of the time I was in the store after that, because I was fighting the guy kung fu matrix style. Kinda freaked me out because this looked like someone who whould have a gun tucked in his pocket, so I disarmed him with a swift kick to the holster. I didn''t say anything until after he started to leave for his own safety, as well as the others in the store... However, what Jeremy did was stupid. NEVER chase after someone who would be willing to go to jail for a lousy game thing like that, you never know what they can and will do, unless you have awesome kung-fu powers. -Tron3k

Whats wrong with just a standard blogger from blogger.com or livejournal?

Well I have one suggestion, you may like it.

You can link PHPBB to your main website, that way you can get the text uploading. As far as pictures go, unless you have a server with ftp access, or chmod access you''re pretty much dead in the water.

What I would do is just learn the book (it took me 3 days), and start writing an output script using this querystring.

This is the one I wrote, and it''s pretty basic.

Well I am not using it to blog, just to update the new stuff section (index page) from anywhere I want (like my phone) with the ability to add audio rants and a pic of the day.

Just to help getting some info for myself, let me tell you about my project.

My project is basically a personal homepage for the index with basic updates that can be done by anyone with access rights (reason for MySQL; I need a database to store user information) however the underlying design consists a very user oriented community, much like a very popular, but now defunct one, for Clickteam''s "Klik & Play" way-back-when with users that have the ability to use custom message boards (currently I am looking into downloading the PHPBB set so I can tweak it and use it''s standard functions in my own personalized BBS) as well as write reviews for games (it''s a game site if you haven''t figure it out yet ^_^) and, if you have the privledges (given at a certain nbr of moderator rated reviews) to submit articles and editorials to be reviewed by the moderators and admins for posting to the site. I know it''s a pretty big project for someone only familar with HTTP, and minor &#106avascript and Flash knowlege but I am pretty fast at learning internet languages and tools. All I need to know is what I need if anything else besides PHP and MySQL (such as Apache or XML) to do what I have desired.

I use phpnews on mine. It was light, easy to modify, and easy to integrate. I don''t imagine it would be too hard to add an IOTD type thing, but it has everything else you mentioned.
