I just watched Cruel Intentions (again ) and, damn, it has a great soundtrack! It''s too bad it wasn''t an original plot as it''s pretty much ingenious (reference - one can even compare the character names to those of Cruel Intentions) Anyhoo, here''s my pick: 1) The Beach 2) Cruel Intentions 3) probably Vanilla Sky, Ninth Gate or Solaris (the recent US version) Why those? The Beach OST was simply fantastic - I haven''t seen the movie, but I own the soundtrack and I''ve read the book. Firstly, these two so connect. Richard, It''s Business as Usual, Lonely Soul and 8Ball are three songs to die for, plus Badalamenti''s Beached, Snakeblood, Pure Shores, Porcelain and Return of Django... On the Cruel Intentions OST, Colorblind, Every You Every Me, You Could Make a Killing... need I continue? Vanilla Sky OST boasts two of my all time favorite songs: Vanilla Sky (McCartney) and Everything in Its Right Place plus many songs above average on most soundtracks. Ninth Gate has a kick-butt theme, which carries so well throughout the movie, and so does Solaris.

Without a doubt, my favorite original soundtrack is from Do the Right Thing. I''m talking about the instrumental and jazzy stuff, not the collection of rap songs and whatnot that was put out as the "soundtrack" (the one containing "Fight the Power").

I am also a big fan of the LOTR soundtracks. Magical.

Cruel Intentions - I just watched that movie (fully) for the first time. O_o

Great movie though.

I need to see the second one (completely new cast, etc...)

I can''t believe that he---ah, I better not give it away.

Why the donkey eyes? Funny you should watch it the same day as I did, though

temp_ie_cant_thinkof_name: Moby is in the Beach ST.

Yes, I mentioned Porcelain, IIRC...

I haven''t seen and don''t know anything about Do the Right Thing, but talking about the LOTR soundtrack: did they put the Requiem of a Dream theme on it as well - the one they ''purchased'' *cough*ripped*cough* for the trailer?

In cruel intentions the soundtrack (well part of it) is by Placebo, the track is called Every You, Every Me and it really rocks and it''s quite easy to play on a guitar too. also if you want to leasten to more placebo try Special K, Pure Morning, You Don''t care about us, Without You I''m nothing.

Haven''t seen it, Senses. What genre is it generally in?

Ilici: yeh, Placebo is cool. Now you made Pure Morning ring in my head. "A friend in need''s a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better..." Llalalal - make it stop!

Nope. The Requiem theme was not in any of the films, and hence, not in any of the soundtracks. And just to add to that, a lot of films use that particular theme (and other popular ones) in trailers, because they can make the movie seem more exciting.

Spirited Away or Mononoke. Wolf''s Rain is also good. And so is cowboy bebop.

I'm not usually a fan of soundtracks, but 28 Days Later seems to have a kick ass soundtrack.

And bah! The Sneaker Pimps remix of Placebo's Every Me Every You is so much better than the original.

Ravenous - A composer and Damon from Blur team up.. probably one of the greatest scores to any film, ever. The movie would literally lose almost all of its insanity without the music.

Dances with Wolves - Beautiful.

Heat - Seriously, you have to see the movie to understand how brilliant some of the music is.

Trainspotting - I don''t even have to say anything, do I.

Other lovely or perfectly suited soundtrack/scores..
Gladiator, Bully, The Last Dragon, Hackers..

It''s OK, except for the fact that they left out the best song in the movie (the Godspeed You Black Emperor! song that plays in the beginning London scene).

..That is really bizarre. I just turned on Godspeed - Lift your skinny fists like antennas to the air, which I haven''t listened to in months..

I goto the forums..and there''s a post mentioning them. Weird.

WRONG! The best song in the film is "Season Song" by Blue States. It plays as the credits start to roll.

Man, I''m gonna go watch that movie now. What a fantastic film!
