If I register a name at godaddy.com and then use that when I get a server at powweb.com will I be able to have theregisteredname.net/whateverfolders/blah.html or whatever? It''s not the kind of domain where all the pages on the server is theregisteredname.net like name.tk is?

After staring at that I finally figured out what you meant. Yes you will be able to get theregisteredname.net/whateverfolders/blah.html because the DNS records will point to it properly. .tk just uses URL cloaking.
