TASTY EARTH CREATURES! YOU MUST NOT DOUBT THE SHOTS WE YOUR PROBES ARE SENDING YOU, er... US! THEY ARE MOST CERTAINLY NOT FAKED, AS TO KEEP YOU UNAWARES OF YOU--WE.... NOT... BEING EATEN.

Hey look! Its Quake. Or Unreal, or half-life or something!

Actually, apart from the wierd sky, it looks almost like a few of the deserts we have here on Earth.

Funny how they got that angle from 30 cm above the ground (The mars rover).
Abnormally large and solar energy charged!

NASA's mars isn't too bad, but I like mine better:

That is a (crudely, cuz I'm lazy) recolored picture of a dessert called sinai (somewhere on Earth) that I found using images.google

No, it's the desert the Jews wandered around in for 40 years before they got to the primised land.

[edit: and there's plants in the pic, so it can't be mars

I think we don't see any neat pics of mars because it's a lot easier to land in a big flat area than it is to land in interesting terrain.]

Why can''t mars be full of plants just like that dessert? Sure, NASA says it doesn''t have the right atmosphere, but maybe they are SPACE PLANTS that don''t need one? =-P

You have clearly never taken an in-depth biology class. Unless there were some other chemicals that could be used for energy storage/releasing that are as efficient as the biochemicals used by organisms on earth, it ain''t gonna happen. Not in anything as complex as a plant, anyway.

The people of Earth are only familiar with the rules that apply here, on Earth. No one has ever actually been on another planet, and even if one had, there is still a lot space to cover outside of this solar system. For all we know, a particle somewhere in that picture could be a "plant". Or it could be a Martian. Maybe Spirit is sitting on top of a huge underground tunnel system that is teeming with life. How do they survive? I don''t know.
