Fight back and you stoop to their script kiddie level. It''s illegal. If attacks persist and are sever enough, the best thing to do is alert both your ISP and law enforcement.

How exactly are you suffering from "3 attacks a day by trojan horses"? You do realize in order to by infected by a trojan, you must run a program? What are you doing??

As far as the poster that suggested Linux, that''s a pretty bad idea if you can''t manage to keep a Window''s box secure. With windows all you have to do is get a virus scanner, zonealarm and click the pretty box that says "Automatically update my computer". Securing a Linux box (not to mention setting it up in the first place) with any number of programs/daemons on the other hand, is an entirely different matter.

i have an antivirus/firewall program and it works well to defend intrusion 99.99999 percent of the time,

so well infact that i dont realy want to switch to linux or unix or bsd or mac or anything

You could turn off your computer or unplug your modem, if these "attacks" are really coming from people on a message board you used to visit then not having your computer on would frustrate them.

Go to windowsupdate.com and patch all the known holes.Get a good firewall and a good virus scanner and fear nothing but a few exploits that *might* be discovered and *might* be used against u . Chances are that you are almost 100% safe if you check for updates pretty often.oh , and btw , how are you getting those 3 trojan attacks per day ? did you consider that your computer might already contain a trojan server from the past years ?

If I would install a firewall, remove my router and log all trojan horse attacks, I get much more then 3 attacks a day. They are just script kiddies that are scanning your IP range. You can do nothing about it. And the people from those forums aren''t likely to have your IP address memorized. Also, years later they obviously stopped bothering....

I used to get about 30 attackes per day. But it calmed down for some reason... Mabey it was that one community... Oh well.

Just reset your IP. If you have dial-up, it resets automaticlly. If you have DSL or Cabel, reset your connection. If you have a static IP, then thats your fault. How about saying sorry to those people at that nail forums?
