I am not really sure they are called bitfields but i use this code adding bitfields to the window style in the precreatewindow function: cs.style |= WS_CLIPSIBLINGS | WS_CLIPCHILDREN; By this, you add those properties, is there a way to ''substract'' properties? Thanks, TP

Re-create the window with the changes you wish to make.

You mean &= ~(flags)?

AFAIK you can update window flags by calling SetWindowLong(). Don''t have the time to check it now, though. As for bitwise manipulation on a variable, VolkerG posted an elegnt solution.
