I have a series of sprites that I need to draw with vertical and horizontal flips, using DirectX8. I can draw the sprites normally, but I have been unable to find any information about a command to draw them with a flip. I''d really prefer not to store mirror-imaged graphics to file and load twice (or 4x) as many sprites into memory in order to do this. Here is my current draw command:
m_pSprite->draw(m_nCurrentFrame,playerX,playerY,surface)
The current game programming book I have (Intro to Computer Game Programming w/ DirectX 8 - Ian Parberry) doesn''t cover this. I''m planning to buy a new book - can anybody suggest a good one that covers simple elements like the one above?
