It appears that some people do have some things wrong. Apparently I overstepped my bounds, but no moderator or staff has informed me of this, in fact it was someone who has been posting on this board for less time than I have been a moderator.
Indeed my last post in the particular thread was inflamatory, and I don''t appologise for that, but what wasn''t made abundantly clear was that the STFU n00b comment was not actually targetted at an individual. It was in fact targetted at all those people who helped to take that thread off topic. It wasn''t closed because of the little bitch-war that was going on, but closed simply because it had no longer got anything to do with its starting purpose (which was ego-masturbation in itself)
Perhaps people ought to start reading the FAQ''s before first of all going into stupid little off topic rants (unless somewhat relevant) and think hard about their use and whether their post is going to be just one more in the pile of crap that this forum has started to become.
This forum is not for personal messages and it should never be used to settle personal vendettas. I have my email address clearly available to the public, as do the other moderators. If you have a problem, take it up with us personally instead of broadcasting your ignorance.
As for telling moderators what they should or shouldn''t do, that is for the staff to decide. Moderators are members that have been with the site for a long period of time that put in some voluntary efforts and have made contributions to the site. Maybe if you think the moderator is doing something unnecessary you should consider bringing yourself up to their standard before taking challenge, or instead contact the staff who will probably be quick to tell you that you are out of line and need to start respecting your betters.
I think thats enough for this rant at the moment, and as always, please start learning to use rather than abuse the resources that other people are so gracious to give you... GameDev might not always be here, especially with the escalating costs of bandwidth consumption of poeple posting unnecessary crap like was displayed in the thread in question.
