okay, my brain started to enter a parallel dimension do to the rift in the time space continuum created by the shear boredom of sociollogy class, and for reason I thought of this term literally. "What happens to a process when it is killed?" I thought, thinking up some weird version of an afterlife for processes. Whatever... Anyway, the point. There are some processes that are more important than others. Some are huge, massive beasts. Processes spawn from other processes. This got me to thinking, what if a process viewer were created in the form of an FPS? You would see the processes as creatures in the 3D world. Important processes would be large monsters that would be hard to kill, while things like Real Player Agent would be little tiny gnats that you could squash almost by just blinking at them (because in this game, you are a ninja, and the shear force of wind you can generate by blinking your eyes together would kill even a large rodent. that is how freaking awesome you would be). The monster/processes could hide in the closet!!! Maybe this could be extended even further to a file system. You have different rooms, which would replace the directory structure we currently have. In each room, a document would be a book or a piece of paper that you could pick up, or blow up if you want to delete it (it would need two shots, just in case you shoot it on accident while going on a random process killing spree). Things like FTP servers could be like resturaunts, and avatars would come in and order stuff to download them. Then, if you want to boot someone from your server, you kill them! And if you want to shut down the FTP server, you flip out (because you''re a ninja, and ninja LOVE to flip out) and DESTROY THE FTP RESTURAUNT, KILLING ALL INSIDE!!! A word processor could be a type writer or a caligraphy brush or something equally symbolic-yet-cool-looking. An image editor would be a painting easle. Email would just be the mail box out in front of your home, and you going out to get the mail would be you downloading the mail from a pop3 server or something. hmmmmmmmmm..........

It''s been done, seriously.

* Certain processes are vital to the computer''s operation and should not be killed. For example, after I took the screenshot of myself being attacked by csh, csh was shot by friendly fire from behind, possibly by tcsh or xv, and my session was abruptly terminated.

I''m going to assume that if you ran this on windows, explorer.exe would be a Cyber Demon. Imagine the damage it could do
