How do I install the ATI Linux drivers on Redhat Linux 9? I downloaded the RPM and installed but nothing. I have installed nVidia drivers on a Mandrake before but it wasn''t a RPM and there were clear instructions. Any help?

How did you install the RPM on RH?

There''s a very clear readme w/ troubleshooting stuff on ATI''s webpage where you get the drivers. Did you try that?

You can''t ask for help and then provide no way to help you. You didn''t even mention what video card it was other than ATI.

What do you have?
What did you do?
What information have you found already?
What happened?
What was expected?

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro. I have downloaded the check.sh but it doesn''t work, gives me a error message so I have no idea what XFree86 I am running. I tried downloading the 4.3 version, installed it (double-clicked and clicked next/continue). Rebooted but nothing, still using the VESA drivers and there is only Radeon 9500 or 9700 drivers there, no 9600.

How did check.sh fail?

What motherboard are you using? Have you loaded AGP and DRI?

9600 drivers are available from ATI''s site.

Run X -version for the correct version.

Do you happen to use a kt400 chipset?

No. I use the 865PE chipset.

After you install you must run this configuration thing that asks you a bunch of questions. I forget the command...

edit:
Well here. This is the installation guide. There is a whole bunch of crap you have to go through. It took me a while to get it working on mine.
