I am trying to convert .cob files(Caligari TrueSpace) to .x files using 3D exploration. When I load the .x file into me program all of the constituent parts are jumbled, maybe reflected along their z axis. I've tried to edit the x file but that create even more problems. I also don't want to edit every file that I make.I was wondering if anyone knew of any other programs for converting .cob to .x files. Thaks for you help Creativity -- Concept -- Code Your game is nothing if you don't have all three. http://www.wam.umd.edu/~dlg/terc.htm Edited by - robmcq on 7/23/00 5:06:58 PM

Whats .cob files?

If your using 3ds MAX to make your meshes then you can try to export to .ASE (Ascii Scene Export) . This format is simple to decode (no reference needed). Then you can easily convert it to .x (or in my case .M3D - which is a powerful 3d Format I''m working on )

.3ds format is another easy format to reverse engineer, you don''t even need a reference - but that all depends on your experience in ''reversing''.

You can checkout information on the .3ds file format and many other formats at:
