IIRC IQ is just the capacity to learn, rather than actual intelligence, which is knowledge. Am I right? - CD

No, you aren''t. Intelligence is the ability to learn and apply knowledge, and IQ is supposedly the ratio of one''s mental age to one''s physical age.

intelligence, which is knowledge.
Intelligence and knowledge aren''t the same at all. Knowledge is just how many facts are stuffed in your head. Computers are extremely knowledgable, but intelligence-wise they''re dumber that dirt

23yrold3yrold - Good point. So I suppose intelligence is the ability to learn then, which would make IQ the intelligence:age ratio. Right?

I''d think that intelligence would be the ability to apply the knowledge effectivly, thus making the two very hard to separate.

Intelligence is the ability to learn new things by exploring what is known {''putting two and two together'', figuring things out without explicit instructions, etc}, and otherwise effectively apply knowledge.

Knowledge is a set of generalizations and specifications.
