Hi, I''m trying to disable updating the color buffer and just updating the Z buffer and stencil buffer. I''m not even sure if D3DRS_COLORWRITEENABLE is the easiest way to do it but I can''t even get that working. Does anyone know what parameter you''re supposed to pass to disable writing to any color. The SDK seems to only have parameters to enable colors. Also is there an easier way to just say "stop updating color" and then turn it back on? Thanks, Yog

Pass 0x00000000 to disable color writing. Pass 0x0000000f to re-enable all color channels.

Be aware that not all cards support it. Someone had our engine defaulting it to 0. When we upgraded graphics cards to the GeForce3 era nothing rendered anymore. Luckily the engine wasn''t used on any shipping titles at that point. Even more luckily, said person doesn''t work on the engine anymore.
