I have been developing my own grafiks engine.. and i have a few questions on hwo to solve certaint things..
1. In todays game the buildings/terrain has very detailed and a WIDE veriety of diffrent textures.. How do they solve this? Do they use huge gigtantic textures that they strech over the whole terrain/Parts as the terrain is split in to sections.. This whould take upp alot of memory.. Dose anyone have any ideas or thoughts on how they do it and how it can be made?
2. I want to give the user of my Grafiks engine a posibiblty to build up meshes from teh ground.. Lets say build a triangel or a square or a cone or what ever they want.. Thier are several ways u can do this.. one is by using the normal TLVertexs buffer and drawprimitiv.... Or u could maybe create a mesh and let the user add vertexes to it.. Is this prosible.. i cant find any tutorials on how to build meshes from teh ground in run time... Or can i solve this in some other way?
This is pritty much it... I whould be really glad if some one could share his/her ideas on these subjects.. i am open for all ideas.. So plz writte back
Thx
