How about them Leafs

Original Post
Well these last 2 months they have really impressed me. They have really played some good hockey and they don''t have stars like other teams do but they have experience. They do well against most teams except for Ottawa and Philidelphia, I really hope they play both of them in the playoffs. both teams are great rivals.
They''re a good team, and over all each and every year they''re getting better and better. I think Ottawa could have played alot better in the latest game, it wasn''t like Ottawa to make stupid mistakes like that, and that cost them the game.

Ottawa does really well in the regular season, but always tanks in the playoffs. The Leafs look like a contender this year, and they haven''t won since ''67 or so, so it''s their turn
. Hopefully a Canadian team can actually win this year, and get our cup back from those lousy Americans. Or at least make a run for it - really, it''s been too freaking long.
I''m just hoping the Oilers will actually make the playoffs (not that they deserve it this year), and NOT play Dallas for once.

Ottawa didn''t tank last year.. although the defeat was painful..
I dislike leafs and NJ... Someone should punch Domi so hard that his face implodes!

Domi is my favorite player on the leafs, he is a really good enforcer and he still scores. I think Philidelphia has a really good chance at taking the cup this year, and as always New Jersey is a great playoff team. As long as the Leafs get past the first round this year I''ll be happy, it gets real crazy here during playoff time esp. when they are playing Ottawa or Philidelphia.

It has been a long time since a Canadian team has won but the teams who have won it deserved it, except for last year, which I think the ducks should have gotten it for their amazing playoff run.
Ottawa has been playing really good in the play off''s the past few years, they''ve dragged themselves out of the gutter and seem to be much better in the playoffs then the regular season. I honestly hope they''ll win the cup, it would be nice to see a team that had finacial difficulties last year really pull it out of the bag, and take the cup.
As a kid I was a big leafs fan (living in Toronto) but I was still born in Ottawa, so I was hoping the Sens could really show what they''re made of. I lost hope in the leafs then but now they seem to be doing alot better now that they have better coaching staff.

A HOCKEY THREAD ON GAMEDEV
YAY!
This is such a huge relief, ever since I was banned from the Oilers messageboard and all. I''ve needed my hockey fix.
Anyways, the Leafs exhibit this same behaviour every season. Divisional and Conference leaders/co-leaders, tons of hype, dance into the semis, and look dead. No reason to think anything different will happen again. The roster is pretty much identical to last''s, and Quinn still has the reigns.
Sens, on the other hand, have a huge boost in Spezza''s full-time status. A terrific series last year has me thinking he''ll be a huge, huge factor to bringing the Sens to at least the Eastern finals. With Smolinski healthy and Lalime regaining former glory, it''ll be a caekwalk.
The only question mark will be NJ. I really, really want to see them win... but am I dreaming? :s
