I found this article on another forum concerning the United States and military draft. http://www.theticker.org/vnews/display.v/ART/2003/12/08/3fd76d6bed7e8 Any comments? *edit* Not 100% sure if it's a repost.

Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain, But don't you pray for my soul anymore.

Hmmm... interesting.. it seems like El Presidente Bush is trying something new. Why? We don't fight ground wars like we did 20+ years ago. Well, not enought to justify a draft.

During WW2 the style of war we were accustomed to warranted the use of a draft. We (as in the USA) no longer fight a ground assault war. Our technology is great enough that EVEN BEFORE we send troops the artilary has already cleared the area.

Why do we need this?

McCarthy wanted alleged communists to go to jail because they didn't conform to the American way of life. He created a fear that communists were taking over Hollywood and the government, and he used this fear to ruin a lot of peoples lives. How did he achieve this? America is a nation of fear.. convince us that what you are doing will protect us in the long run, and we will sign over anything, just to stay safe.

Bush wants to protect the USA from the "threat" of terrorism off shore and at home. Who is a terrorist?

Anybody who opposes his way of government.

Are you a terrorist? I think that you are.
