Just a quick question if u can help? How would you guys go about making menus for a windows platform game or application for that matter? My current way of thinking is to make bitmaps for background and buttons etc then checkthe mouse 2D coords Vs the buttons location. Then take actions if needed? Or is it easy to use a windows type library of input boxes and radio buttons? I develop in C/C++ not the Visual Versions, so do not know how to make anything windows like except the window itself, a top drop down menu and a msg box! Any help or direction appreciated.. Thanks. well if you''re making a game I suggest you use this metthod :

First Print the buttons you need like : Start, Load and Quit

Then create a selector and make it 3 stats 1,2 and 3

make if(KEY_DOWN(VK_DOWN) && state <= 3)
{

state += 1;
}

and do the reverse for up.

then you do

if(KEY_DOWN(VK_RETURN) && state == 1)
{
game_state = GAME_MAIN;
}

ect...

of course, in this exemple the menu will run extremely fast and you will be obligated to set something to slow it down.
