Hi there! I´m getting into GBA programming using and I have a question for those of you who are more experienced in the subject.: The "gfx2gba" program seems to be quite popular, however it only works with 256 color-bitmaps, even if you want to display them in mode 3 or mode 5 (which are 16 bit modes). My question is the following: how can I make a bitmap using more than 256 colors and still be able to convert it to a gba array? Thanks for your reply!! --Ignacio Liverotti iliverotti@hotmail.com

Simply create a 15 bit image using PaintShop Pro (or Photoshop
or any other imaging software that can save raw files) and
save the image as a raw file (that is - uncompressed without
header).

You can either use the linker to attach the raw image file to
your ROM final image or search for a program called "bin2c" that
will create a C header file from the raw data. Remember to let
the tool create a u16 (unsigned 16 bit short integer type) array,
because memory has to be accessed by using 16 bit blocks.

Good luck!
Pat.

Thanks darookie! Your explanation was very helpful indeed. I´ll search for bin2c.
