I''d like to setup some image hosting for a few friends, but I can''t seem to locate some halfway decent software. I checked hotscripts.com, but all the good stuff costs an arm, leg and half a liver. The only decent GPL/GNU stuff was pretty primitive, no user accounts, etc. Google turned up around six million image hosts, but no software. I want to be able to force people to sign up, and limit how much space they can use up. Other features are superficial, would be nice. Anyone know of anything at could fit my needs? News Flash! Host them on your own computer, assuming it''s always up. Download and install Apache, then just make an image directory and link to it.

Eh, I''m on 56k, and the computers only up for about fifteen hours out of the day. I''m talking more along the lines of a php script that I can run on my 1&1 account.

You want image hosting software? I built mine in php a few months back for my site, but what exactly are you looking for? The ability to just upload and list a directory of images?

EDIT: Perhaps I don't read too well sometimes, I see what you're looking for. My script doesn't do what you're looking for, so sorry.

I wrote one in 2 hours last week using MySQL and PHP.. (Which I had next to no experience with, but I found php.net to be VERY helpful..!)
It''s not very hard, you can easily handle it within a day if you focus..

I can send you the thing I wrote, but I had a list of users beforehand (it was a image upload for people on my school), so there is no sign up thing in it, you will have to do that yourself..

Thanks for the offer, but I''m going to write my own. Figure I could use the exercise.
