Which one do you use ? I''ve installed litestep and it''s quite cool - loads faster; allows me to customize shortcuts, the taskbar - but i can''t get the windows and the controls to be drawn differently then the windows standard ones. Anyone know if that is possible and with what shell mod? [ My Site ] [A link to gamedev] [A Link to google] [A link to nowhere] [ /*ilici*/ ]

StyleXP is just about the most horrible hack in the world. If you want to make XP prettier, just use WindowBlinds. It''s the real stuff, better skins, better support (and it''s not some hack that crashes all the fucking time).

Anyway, as far as shell replacements go, my favorite are: blackbox for windows (there are several versions of it, such as xoblite, bblean, and bb4win), and GeOShell (even though it still needs some major work).

However, I''m not a major fan of complete shell replacements, so I just use DesktopX and WindowBlinds all the time. I''m a major Stardock fan, as their products are pretty high in quality.

I''ve never had StyleXP crash on me. Only time it bugs me is when I for some reason has reset CMOS, and it goes "STOP! You tried to reset the system clock to HAXOR me, but I am too smart for you! Muahaha!". God, I hate it when that happens...

dude, I can''t stand this litestep thinger. how do I move my icons on my desktop? My icons got all bunched up in random order on the left side of the screen, after I had spent a whole day working out a complex organization scheme (okay, maybe not that complex).

Now, all I can do to the icons is double click them. What bull. Too much documentation to read. Blah, going back to explorer, atleast I know how to use it.

I downloaded a tetris clone from the Showcase a while back that looked like it was drawn with crayons. I''ve been looking for a theme like that for years, and almost made one myself.
