Damnit. First Wal-Mart stops carrying Sobe, and now this. I''m going to have to go start a suicide thread if this keeps up.

Dude, it was supposed to be a graphic adventure, why are you complaining so much. You should be thanking Lucas Arts for not ruining the characters and story with such a horrible genre of gameplay.

Yeah, because its like it would have the exact same gameplay, and LucasArts wouldn''t ever try anything new...

The original was point-and-click adventure, and it was excellent.

WTF?

I mean no one likes adventure games anymore...(corporate wise) They do violate a lot of design principles, but I''m sure the market is there for them... Hell, random people are making things with the SCUMM engine...

Rumour has it that there''s only one more Monkey Island game planned (which may not be a bad thing - it is beginning to get a little tired), too.

Yeah...but I''d rather see 5 more Monkey Island games (even if they do degrade in quality a little) than no more adventure games at all, as the trend is today.

Agreed.

Revolution Studios might take up the baton if Lucasarts are flagging; I recently bought all three Broken Sword games, and they''re excellent. I don''t think they can write any more games into the BS franchise - given the ending of the last game - but hopefully they''ll use the engine to tell some new stories.

Yeah, it is kind of disappointing when I read about the cancellation yesterday. BTW, someone on adventuregamers has posted a link to a petition to save Sam & Max. Will it work? Probably not, but we can hope.

And BTW, adventure games are an excellent genre of gameplay. Different people have different tastes, and not everyone likes the Final Fantasy RPG of walk, random battle, smash buttons, walk, random battle, smash buttons, etc, or the Doom genre of click left mouse button at anything that moves.

Yay! I saw the "NOOOOO!" and knew you was talking about Sam''n Mac ^__^

This happened like five minutes ago:
MindWipe shouts ''NOOOOOOOOOOOO!'' in slow motion
MindWipe: They canceled the new Sam''n Mac!!!!!!!!
