The VS6 C++ Project for my 4D Terrain Game Engine is available for download from http://optionalreaction.net/software/game_engine game_engine_2.zip now includes the compiled binary, and fixes 3 errors present in game_engine_1.zip (compiles with DX9 SDK). A directed forum can be found via the above address.

Looks great mate. Pity I''m on a linux machine here otherwise I would d/l and check it out.

Btw, I can''t see it in the screenshots but where''s the 4th dimension?

I got a question, but i havn''t used your program yet. When you create the trees, do you create heaps of textured alpha opped QUADS (or pairs on trianglestrips in d3d language) around the center position of the tree, or do you make the tree quad always face the viewer?

I''m making a terrain game, but i want to know which would look better?

agent666 - I''ve downloaded antismoke''s demo. He does not use billboards but meshes for the trees. The thing I was most impressed with was the sky. Great could movement!

You liked the giant revolving disc thing in the sky? I was too freaked out by the red balls that fell sporadically, or the fact that any time i stopped flying upwards, i''d fall and bounce off the landscape. It didn''t let me examine the piece in question. I will say that the explosion animation was pretty cool, not a lot of demos let you do that kind of shit. yo peace
