Scripts and Environment Variables

...I just want to remap the TEMP directory to C:\TEMP so that installers will run on this school PC without having to do it manually each time. I thought that: SET TEMP = C:\TEMP ...would work, but it doesn''t. Any ideas? DOS Batch files/VB Script &c would be fantastic!
