Who can write me a programm ?

Original Post
Hello,
I have spent many hours on the internet searching for a solution for my problem. I made many contacts but nobody could help me. I want that someone will write me a programm for my hardware-project.
I will it discribe like this:
Imagine a notebook and there a new Excel Document is open. If I press "1" on the keyboard, the number "1" will apear in the Excel document at the same time I press this button. You will laugh now, because nothing genial.
BUT:
Now I want that the same will happens, if I press "1" on a GPRS mobile phone !
I press the key "1" on the GPRS mobile phone, and ther is the "1" in my Excel sheet, at the same time I press "1" on the phone.
So, how can I solve this ? Everything must work in Realtim. I found many solutions on the web with sending a SMS to a GPRS receiver connected to the Notebook, but that ´s not what I need. I need it in REALTIME.
IDEAS ?
Greetings
Enzo
If you want it realtime then you''ll need something like a bluetooth equipped java phone. You could then write a program in java to run on the phone which sends the numbers you type via bluetooth to your notebook. On the notebook you''ll have another program which recieves the signals and then puts the number into excel for you.
Why do you need this anyway? There may be a better way to do it.

Hello,
the distance should be 100 miles or more, so Bluetooth is not the solution.
The transmitter is a GPRS phone and the receiver is a GPRS modem connected to the notebook
Which other method do you mean ?
Is there anotehr possibility to do this ?

Hello,
I don''t start building a house with the roof.
First I want to know if the person will understand my problem.
Then I want to know how much work it is.
Finaly we can talk about the price.
Talked to many developers, they gave up.
kind regards

Well if the distance is 100 miles you''re gonna have to send it via GRPS, so basically the solution will be the same apart from you send via GRPS not bluetooth.
What I mean is what are you trying to acomplish by sending the numbers pressed on a GRPS phone 100 miles to be put into an excel workbook? There may be another way to acomplish it.

Hello,
I wrote this example to show what I need.
I dont need to write a "1" into an Excel sheet.
My self written programm has to read with inkey$ this "1"
which is send ba GPRS phone, in realtime !

My problem is following:
I have two push buttons, which I want to connect a GPRS mobile phone, or I use the buttons directly from a phone.
If one of those push buttons is pressed the information of the TIME (Hour/Minute/Second/ Millisecond), and the
information which button has produced this time stamp should be send. Lets say the time stamp and the number of the
button should be transmitted with GPRS.
I want always if a push button is pressed that this information will be send with GPRS to my Notebook. So on the
notebook there should appear following information:
I press the switch number 1 on the phone, the signal will be transmitted to a GPRS receiver connected to the notebook and
following information shows on the screen of the notebook:
---------------------------------------
1 12 36 20 325
----------------------------------------
Explanation:
1= Button number 1
12= hour
36= minute
20= second
325= Milliseconds
other example:
I press the switch number 2:
----------------------------------
2 12 20 13 216
----------------------------------
Explanation:
2= Button number 2
12= hour
20=minutes
13 = seconds
216 = milliseconds
If you think that another format of time is better to send, I would also agree, like counting only in milliseconds --->
e.g.
11254689 ms - 11253689ms = 1 second
I dont know what the counter in J2ME will produce, if it will count in ms, you could also send the infos in ms.
I will press in average approx. 2 times one of those buttons per second and per hand.
I dont know if a phone is a good solution but I think so. The best possibility would be if it would be possible to
change the software inside of a common GPRS mobilephone.
OR:
If I press "1" or "2", 1 or 2 will appear in realtime on the screnn of the notebook.

I don''t know the details of GPRS, but I don''t think you are clear on what you are trying to acomplish ... or more acurately, I think you have mistaken ideas about HOW it would be accomplished, and how "real-time" it will actually be.
let us explore ...
first of course the software on the phone ... of course the general case is that the phone runs software provided by the manufacterer, but if you are replacing that software OR using a phone which allows you to run something like Mobile Java programs, then you can get software onto the phone, no problem.
However, now we''ve got to where you can write software on the phone which detects when the user presses a button ... no problem ... but what can you DO with that knowledge? The only avenues available to the phone for communication are those provided by the service provider of the phone ... which are TWO options, VOICE and DATA ... and of course a few extra layers on top of DATA such as SMS. Obvously, I don''t think you want to be connected to a phone line, and send the "#1" audio sound to the recipient to be processed by a modem on the other end ... so it won''t use voice.
So there is DATA ... which is to say INTERNET communications. Which require an open data connection on the phone (possible big expenses here ... but I''m not sure) ... and software to send data over the internet. The only obvious answer I can see is to use http: to send your message ... you could send send a web request, which could be handled on the recieving server as a web request or just a page visit with side effects (such as acepting the provided query string (number pressed and time) and acting upon it).
But as you can guess ... the data connection must ALREADY BE ACTIVE for the behavior to be even close to real time ... cause making the internet connection takes time ...
and of course the internet isn''t really realtime ... it would likely be tollerably "fast", but not preditably or dependably real-time (depending on how you are using that term).
now, on the other side ... the "do some action" (like insert the pressed number into a spreadsheet) - would be written just like any other server / service based software function. 1 part is the server connection side, which is easy using existing software - the other part is the specific stuff you want to acomplish ...

Thanks a lot for your answer.
You are right Internet is not working in Realtime.
Why do I need realtime? Because I have to use those informations of #button + the time to calculate in my own written programm as soon as possible, because my programm has to act quckliy. It would be also ok, if I get this informations
during approxim. 1-2 seconds instead of realtime.
It is not a problem for me to have an Internet connection between GPRS phone and GPRS modem, or phone to server all the time.

I see you are very lose to that what I need.
You are right audio signals would also be possible (DTMF
see: http://209.51.151.50/DTMFController.html)
but I cant use this device because of other reasons.
But maybe something else is possible:
Hardware:
GPRS modem
GPRS reciever
I press the buttons on a GPRS phone, and the audio tone arrives
in realtime on the GPRS reciever. But the difference to DTMF should be, that the tones must be shorter, and it must be possible that I can press the keys faster. DTMF is to shuffle in sending and recieving the tones. If I press #1, I have to wait approx. 1 second to be able to press #2. It must be quicker.
Maybe somebody can write a programm which is producing DTMF audio tones, but the audio tones can be send quicker, as the
software of the manufacturer does.

i think that what he wants to do is have essentially a program sitting in memory on his phone all the time. from what i can make of it he wants a key logger program on his phone. so even when he''s making phone calls he wants the information sent to the notebook. my understanding of phones is that they are not good at multi-tasking. i don''t know how feasible it is to have a program sitting resident in memory that''s doing key logging and all the time sending data to the notebook.
enzobirkennest, is this what you want. people think you want a special application that you specifically open and then send numbers to your notebook. if what you want is what''s in the first paragraph above, then it''s an entirely different problem i think.

no it is not keylogging.

You don''t need any custom hardware, you just need a GPRS modem for your laptop, a keystroke-snooper running on the phone, and a server running on your laptop for it to connect to.
I would need to know exactly what phone(s) you want it to work on in order to give time & cost estimates.
I would require a full-disclosure of intent in order to accept a contract (dubious privacy concerns).
Standard hourly rate for this sort of embedded work is 70USD/hrs (with a maximum not-to-exceed clause).

Yes, but he didn´t answer to my mails I sent him.

He either wants to be able to detonate a BOMB using his cell phone ( raed his english, he is most likely a member of the Taliban ), OR he wants to be able to snoop on his girlfriend and see what numbers she is calling on her cellphone while he drives around with his laptop, shooting the people his girlfriend is calling.
Either way I would suggest not helping this sick basturd.
