I have this ancient game (Ultima II) that I desperately want to play again. Unfortunately, when I play the game the time runs by so quickly that my character dies on the screen due to starvation or because he quickly becomes surrounded by beasties. Does this have to do with the clock speed? Is there a way to underclock without getting in to the hardware? Like is there a piece of software out there that will slow things down?

I don't think there is any way to underclock it enough to make it run at a playable speed. (If this is a dos game) There are dos emulators that might help though. Try googling for some.

I believe there is such a piece of slow-down software, but I don''t recall what it is called or where you can find it.
You are not the one beautiful and unique snowflake who, unlike the rest of us, doesn't have to go through the tedious and difficult process of science in order to establish the truth. You're as foolable as anyone else. And since you have taken no precautions to avoid fooling yourself, the self-evident fact that countless millions of humans before you have also fooled themselves leads me to the parsimonious belief that you have too.--Daniel Rutter

Thanks a lot Benjamin Bunny. "Mo''Slo" sounds very promising.
