Hey, I got an ATI 9600 upgrading from ym MX440 a week or so a go. Mostly so I could program pixel shaders and program in multimonitor. My only problem with it is that it will not recognize that my second monitor can go above 1024x768. My old MX440 had an option to set it to 1280x1024. Which worked. I would like to use this setting with the ATI but it is not an option in the main disp window (XP). I went into the advanced settings where there was an option to manually set the resolution(in case the GFX card mis-detected it), but I can find no similar options on the ATI driver settings. I have the newsest drivers. Any ideas on how to boost the resolution? Dwiel

Buy an nVidia GF4 MX 440.

Ok, I have no idea, to be honest.

Dang I feel like an idiot now.

All I have to go to is advanced -> monitor -> Hide modes that this monitor can''t display.

same place as before... I was looking in all of the fancy menus. Not th eplain windows one.

BTW, has anyone figured a good way to use MSVC++ with dual monitor well? I would like a source file open on each monitor... and only have the toolbars on my one main one?

A bit off topic, but yeah.

Thanks for all of the help Promit!

Now I don''t feel so much like an idiot. That setting only allowed me to use virtual deskspace which I scroll over to by moving the mouse the edge of a screen. Actuall resolution of the monitor did not change.

I don think this virtual deskspace is cool, I would also like to be able to change the real resolution.

Thanks!
