VB Menu Question

I''m running VB 6 on XP. I can''t get the underscore shortcuts in the menu editor (& ones) to show up in the menu editing windows or when programs run. Why is this? The ctrl shortcuts work fine.

Hold down alt? It''s an XP feature.
