Yes, he deserves 50 years in jail. He''s a psycho and an action must be made before he did even more harmful acts toward people. And 50 years seems to be long enough to keep this guy away from the rest of the population. While he''s in jail, however, he needs a serious mental treatment.

The guy plead to 50 years. So there''s really no question about whether or not he deserved it. He asked for it.

The kid obviously needs serious help, but I''m not convinced that any amount of help could make him stable enough to be released into society. I don''t see the point in locking him up for 50 years though... if he survives, then he''ll just be a REALLY pissed off 67 year old and run over more people when he gets out because it''s not like he has much to lose after spending the prime of his life in jail. Either execute him, put him in the psych ward or put him in jail for life. He''s already proven he''s too unstable to be a part of normal society, and I somehow doubt 50 years in jail will change that, if anything it would just make things worse.

50 years seems like a lot for something a teenager did, considering no one died, but I still think it''s fine because he definitely needs to be kept away from the rest of society. But I''m not convinced he needs to specifically be in jail for 50 years... just maybe 20 years in jail and the rest in some institution.
