alright, so, I''m using Eclipse and I am absolutely loving it. The organization, the automation, it''s great. If I want to enforce a strict code format, I can define it in Eclipse, code all I want as sloppy as I want, the right click->source->format and it will make everything nice and straight. I also like the fact that it integrates seamlessly with CVS repositories. Constant syntax checking is nice, along with the autocomplete features. For instance, Eclipse will try to guess what should be used in the parameter list when you select a method from the auto-complete form (this is off by default). It checks to see what variables in scope are of the appropriate type, and sticks them in place. Anyway, also, a screenshot of my current project

Hooray for programmer art!

Heh, good stuff. Yah, it''s a great IDE, very professional, and the best part about it is - it''s free!

Heh, I just checked out one of the HTTP download sites for Eclipse, saw the SDK for windows and almost crapped my pants at the 83 mb's sticking beside it. Then I realized it was in fact the SDK, and was happy to see that the windows version is a mere 25 mb.

BTW - is the 3.0 version release, or beta?

Is this a java or C++ IDE? Or an IDE for other/mutliple/err-something languages?

It is primarily a Java IDE. There is, however, a C++ plugin developed for it. Never really tried it, but didn''t hear much good from those who tried it. Stick to VS.NET if you can afford for C++.

*And yes, I use eclipse for my work java development. Works great*

Yeah, eclipse is very neat it has some nice auto features such as;

if you try using a class that was not imported it will automatically import it for you.

and

it puts its own try and catches were they are required.

BTW how do you enable that feature that you mentioned about automatic parameter insertion?
