ok suppose u got this function: void MyFunction(GLfloat x); which datatype would u pass in for the parameter? GLfloat? float? Single? I tried and obviously all 3 would work but what goes behind the managed environment still abit puzzles me... like if i use Single, then i suppose before compilation, it would get changed to float? or it would remain as Single? somehow i got a feeling that Single datatype is a typedef, so before compilation, it would become float? thx! A Single is a 32 bit floating point value. A Double is 64 bit.

I suspect that GLFloat, float and Single are equivalent.

Just right click on GLfloat and select GoTo Definition Of and see what it actually is.
