i have tried implementing collision detection from http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article1026.asp but it doesn't work properly. Sometimes it goes through walls ( this happens on polygon edges), sometimes recursive func. goes into infinite loop and couses heap overflow, and it does't solve problem of walking up the stairs. Has anyone tried implementing the method from this article? [edited by - miodragsm on April 19, 2004 1:25:20 PM] [edited by - miodragsm on April 19, 2004 1:26:28 PM]

The pseudo-code given in the article is a little bugy and unclear sometimes. The best thing to do is go through the whole article step by step, understand it and go through example scenarios on paper. That way I found the bugs. If you can wait 1-2 days I will have the algorithm implemented and can upload an example.

there is a similar, and better laid out article on exactly the same stuff. there is code as well, but the code is pretty messy in my opinion

Everything is better with Metal.
