Migrating Toward .NET Development

I''m an experienced C++ programmer (both personal and commercial experience) looking to get into .NET development. I also have a year or so of Java experience, so naturally the language I would want to migrate toward would be C#. I''ve taken a look at a bunch of C# sites and tutorials, and due to its close similarities to C++ and Java I am learning the language fairly quickly. But since a lot of its power relies on utilizing features of the .NET framework, I haven''t been really able to exploit its more powerful capabilities. I''m looking for a book that explains the framework and how everything works together, and uses the C# language to do. I''m not really looking for a book that focuses on teaching the language, however, since I already know about operators, data types, methods, inheritance, etc., and can pick up anything fairly quickly, but if it goes into some of the finer features and how they relate to the framework, then that''s fine. I already have experience in several other programming languages, so hopefully a book that assumes the reader has a solid foundation in other OOP languages. I''ve taken a look on Amazon and found a few interesting books: Applied Microsoft .NET Framework Programming Programming C#, Third Edition (maybe too much on the language, though) Microsoft Visual C# .NET Language Reference (a reference never hurts ) Programming Windows with C# (Core Reference) (I like Charles Petzold, he''s a good author) I really don''t know which ones are good, which ones will focus on what I want, etc. Any advice is appreciated!

im a computer science uni student, whos just learnt java as part of my course, and knew C++ anyway.. when I went over to C# 2 months back i used Microsoft Visual C#.NET Core reference by Mickey Williams, Microsoft Press. And its been soooooo useful, just enuff to convert to c# and explains the .net framework too.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I'll look into it. Anyone else have any suggestions?
