oh teh noes.. teh matr!xx!!! that would be something, someone on life support powering their own equipment would save electricity.. someone plugged into the matrix would help power the machines, and in return live in a fantasy world.. maybe I just watch too many movies =)

Meh. The only possible valid explanation after that bit at the end of Reloaded was the nested matrix theory (ie. Zion was set in a matrix which also encompassed the hardware to simulate the matrix we first learned about, sorta like a gameboy emulator written in java). I think the problem with The Matrix was always that, after the first movie, we thought the Brothers W. were a lot smarter than they actually are. Oh well...

The problem is that if Zion was in another Matrix, then nobody would ever have gotten out

This will require quite a bit of screening to make sure no antibiotic chemicals enter the system, otherwise flushing a bottle of penecillin would be the next act of terrorism to shut down a city.
