How can I politely ask Windows if there''s a CD in a drive without getting a "Please Insert Disk" error pop up? I''m writing a program that should behave one way if there is a disk in the drive and another way if no disk is inserted. Thanks in advance!

Thanks. I''d searched google, the codeproject, and MSDN before, but perhaps I just wasn''t creative enough with my search terms. I''ll have time to try these tomorrow.

I think SDL could do this for you.
