Hi all,
I've having a problem figuring out how to properly draw a sphere than has had the "radius" value for each vertex adjusted relative to the rest of the sphere.
What I'm doing is applying a "terrain" map to a surface. Now, I have it going on a 2D surface, however I'm having trouble converting it to map onto a spherical surface.
Here are some screen shot samples:

As you can see, I have it properly mapping the terrain to the sphere, but between each TRIANGLE_STRIP the surfaces don't connect together. I can't seem to wrap my mind around how to get these TRIANGLE_STRIP's to properly connect to each other.
The second picture demonstrates the direction that the strips are being drawn (i'm not drawing every other strip), so they're going around the longitudinal axis of the sphere, which explains why they connect properly. The problem is that the strips can't connect to each other.
Does anyone have any advice for me? Perhaps Triangle Strips aren't the best way to do this? I've also tried Quad strips but the problem still persists.
