If you: - have experience in C++ programming, - have some object-oriented design knowledge, - are able to solve problems on your own, - like to be part of well organized team of artists, designers and programmers, - have a strong motivation to FINISH playable game, - want to learn and share your knowledge with others, - want to have something done to show as a reference, - you love/loved playing Microprose (now Atari) UFO games and never had enough of them, then you have to check out "Project: Xenocide" (http://www.projectxenocide.com/). The goal of this project is to recreate the spirit and feel of classical Microprose UFO games under title Xenocide. This project is completly open sourced, with lots of artistic potential (just check out Artwork on site), lots of work done in 3D models, textures, written text describing technologies, weapons, aliens, etc., lots of design documents, music and more. What distinguish this project from other opensource or indie games is good organization and will of members to finish that game. We have many 3D artists, 2D artists, concept artists, sound artists, creative text writers, even few game designers, we need programmers to make this dream come true. Good programmers, becouse from programmer's point of view, this is complex project, data driven, client-server architecture (althou version 1.0 will be single player only), using decent 3D engine (www.ogre3d.org). So register to project's forum, post what's your experience, what you are best in, you can even come to IRC channel to chat with developers (#projectxenocide at irc.gamesurge.net). Guyver EDIT: If you have IE and DirectX9 you may want to check out html-based X-Net browser here: http://www.projectxenocide.com/artassets/viewer/xnet.htm [edited by - guyver6 on May 11, 2004 10:26:45 AM]

And that''s the whole problem, cuz our artists, brilliant as you said, are starting to be bored, while we try to develop decent data driven engine and UI (client, 3D part of the game) is scheduled after that. But there are to few of "we" to work fast, becouse we do it in our spare time.

So, if anyone is willing to help our case then just drop a post on project''s forum then come to IRC for introduction and answers, so you could start asap.
