Hi everyone, I would like to know if there are Intern Programs for someone who wants to become a game programmer. Also, I would like to know how much knowledge is required to get into those programs. I would really appreciated any advice to help me get into the game programming field. Here is a little of my Background: I''m on my Sophomore Year of Computer Science. So far, I''ve learned C,C++, and other programming languages. I''ve learned Data Structures, Win32 APIs, and MFC. I found a special interest in game programming, thus; I learned DirectDraw, and a little of OpenGL. Thanks ASM

If you''re asking for interships with big companies like EA,THQ, etc. most of those get filled in march/april. I live in the chicago area and out here Midway/High Voltage have already filled their spots. Good luck though but I would assume most were filled awhile ago.

As far as the best way to get into the games industry. You''re B.S. degree is a start you''ll want a demo also coming out to prove you''re experience in gamedev.

This whole forum board is a place to get a start too. Its filled with a lot of people in the same position as you looking to get their break, or just looking to make a game in their spare time. I would reccomend if you do want to make a demo join up with a team here and try to make something for you''re resume when you''re out of college. I like most people here have their own projects but as you were just asking I won''t bother with shamelessly plugging my own project.

Good luck with you''re search for an internship.
