Ok, I couldn''t help myself the other night and I started browsing some porn sites. One site that was open in IE (I had like 3 windows open) appeared to be locked up. A moment later, it went back to normal. I was able to browse the page. Ever since that little "freeze" moment, everytime I open IE to connect to the internet, I have 4 bookmarked Porn sites that are in my favorites folder and my IE always wants to connect to some porn search engine.
I ran Norton; nothing. I ran LavaSoft Spyware; picked up some things but it still didn''t fix the problem. I tried deleting the bookmarks and reseting the page to blank; doesn''t work.
Any ideas how to get rid of this crap? Thanks.
Use Pornzilla.
It was in place if the usual ''Use Mozilla'' post. As for a solution to your problem, try Spybot Search and Destroy.

I seriously need help with this guys. It''s bugging the fuck out of me.
You probably got pwned by a rogue activex control. I know of two separate bugs in Internet Explorer that allow arbitrary execution of code in a recoverable state. For the noobs this means you can run a chunk of code in a fashion which allows the system to behave normally afterwards. I don''t know that I would trust porn advertisers to write a virus that complex, but odds are you (in the past) accepted and trusted an activex control.
In any case; if you are running into problems like this your easiest solution depending on your technical skill is to 1) Reinstall your operating system or 2) Do some digging in your registry and various files to determine where those favorites are being referenced. There are tools that allow you to monitor changes so run one, then start deleting those shortcuts. When they reappear identify the process and then clean house.

I have located the files in the registry but I change them and they re-appear. For a period of about 15 minutes, I thought I had solved the start page problem.....then it went back to same old page it''s been wanting to connect to.
Then try harder. Obviously a process is recreating them. Leave the tools you are using running longer and track down the roque process. Shortcuts and files don''t magically appear, even under windows.
It is not that hard to do just put in a bit of effort
If he can''t sort this out under windows he would be finished under Linux.

Try a program called "hijackthis". It allows you to see what ever is going on with IE, and delete things associated with it. However, be careful, as it shows the good and the bad.
I just did and I was told (by a friend after he just viewed the log) to delete 5 things he had listed. I just deleted them. After restarting my PC, the porn bookmarks and the start page were still there. Nothing worked.
maybe I am suggesting the obvious, but did you do as earch on google for the URL set as your homepage? Maybe someone had this problem too, or maybe some antimalware site has removal instructions.
The last solution, if you can''t remove it, and don''t want to reinstall your OS, or change your browser would be to edit your host file, and resolve those domains to either localhost, or some invalid IP.
