Add a "Shaders" forum to the "Technical Side" specifically for Cg, GLSlang, and DX9 HLSL? I think it''s a topic deserving its own forum.

I dont see the need for a seperate forum per shader api/lib, but yes, i would also be one of those that would like to see a "Graphics - Shaders" forum... i think the subject has achieved critical mass...

There have been, on average, about one new thread on shaders per day in the last couple of weeks, at least by a quick count in the DirectX, GL and Graphics Programming forums. There are also a couple in the General programming section. So assuming that a forum existed it would probably get as much traffic as the scripting language forum.

However, some of these questions really aren''t shader specific and have answers that are really more general DirectX/GL/whatever questions, like IDE integration or just setup problems.

I don''t really see shaders as being a separate enough topic to warrant a forum of its own.

I agree. Every shader question can be classified as one of two types: How Does Technique X Work (in which case it would be better addressed to Graphics Programming and Theory), or How Do I Achieve Technique X With Shader Language Y (which would be suited to GP&T, the API forum specific to that shader language, or possibly General Programming).
