I''m looking for someone to do a very simple project in OpenGL. I would do it myself but i have no knowledge of OpenGL programming and limited knowledge in C++.
What i need is a simple program totake 3 elements: a diffuse map, normal map, and specular map, and draw them properly to the screen with the ability to rotate and tile the texture. Also it needs to be capable of having multiple lights with the ability to move the lights or set them on a path to rotate around the texture.
Recommended features are command line specification of each map, automatic scaling of the textures, and API interface.
what i need is a tool that allows a person to preview a texture in a small window, only 1 texture at a time, with the ability of the user to move the light to view the many angles of the texture. The textures used will be TGA and any other support is optional.
The programmer must be willing to make the code opensource.
What are you paying ?

eh, not really paying. its just a community project for a utility that i have not seen yet. I''m sure if i spent a couple more weeks looking i could find the source code i''m looking for. I could pay ya like 5$ if you realyl want it, essentially buying you lunch.
like i said it should be a simple project especially with all the information on the site and especially if you''ve already done some 3d rendering. I do have some source code that olmost works, it just has a few bugs that need to be fixed. if anyone wants to take that on i will send the source that i have.
If anyone is interested in doing then, then i will send full details on what it will be used for and my goals.

i guess that last post killed all interest.
well, for those of you who are still interested, this is not something for profit. its simply a project, or "hobby".
To make my intentions clear, i''m just trying to find someone to make this not just for me, but for the community. (hence the requirement for opensource)
The actual usage for this project will be to provide a means to view textures that will be used in future games. Nothing fancy, not an editor, but just a viewer. My intentions are to have a two (2) part program, one part with a file browser, the other, that is the actual renderer. the browser would load the renderer and choose what to display.
the type of games this would be usefull for specifically is doom3, as it is know that it uses normal maps and such.
If there is no takers on the project then I will attemp to do it myself so its no biggie.

Imo you seriously underestimate the project : either one has to write a lot of code (cuz if you want all you described it is a serious program) or one has to throw out even more. Even more the open-source stipulation might not be very appealing to peopla who allready have an engine in which they might see commercial potential.
The reason why i asked about the cash is because you wrote your post in a very instructive (dont know how you should say it : like a boss a youngest employer would instruct) way. There are better ways to ask for serious favours...

sorry, I like to be instructive and authoritative. and from all the programming classes i have taken, i definatly like to know what the design requirements are.
Anyways, after doing another day a full research, I have come accross a number of sample programs that i could combine to get the required effect.
If anyone would like i will now post the resources i have found pertaining to this subject:
http://opengl.nutty.org/opengl.html
http://www.ati.com/developer/sdk/RADEONSDK/Html/Samples/OpenGL/RADEONCombine3SpecMap.html
http://www.paulsprojects.net/opengl/bumpmap/bumpmap.html
http://www.ronfrazier.net/apparition/index.asp?appmain=research/advanced_per_pixel_lighting.html
so i believe with these sources, that even with my limited knowledge, i could assemble the code into what I require. or if anyone else wishes to take these resources and make their own. either way, i''m gonna get this done.
The biggest problem I foresee is rendering on multiple graphics cards.

Dude, seriously - if you get something like Ogre, you could probably crank out a really simple 3D app in an hour or so.
