It''s you.

Remember, microsoft.com has about a million backup servers and such. You know that DoS a while back? The one they took without blinking?

They DoSed www.microsoft.com...

And nothing happened. The attack went off exactly as planned, but MS has some formidable servers keeping that site running.

From http://www.iunknown.com/000444.html:

Large production environment is, um, an understatement. Here''s some statistics about Microsoft.com:

80 Gbps egress rate
250,000 requests / second
700,000 concurrent connections
950 web servers
250 SQL servers
75 million unique users / day

alot of people using windows update...
If people used windows update, email viruses wouldn''t be able to exploit vulnerabilities that were patched months ago

So I run windows update for the vulnerability that the Sasser e.a. worm exploit. Try to reboot, system won''t shutdown and gets stuck at saving your settings... Wait a while and do a reset.
Next thing I know windows bluescreens on startup, even in "safe-mode". Finally the damn thing starts up when using the last known good profile.
Remove the update and everything is fine again. So indeed my computer can''t be exploited when it''s not working but why can''t they just release a patch that works and only update the file with the buffer overflow instead of all files in your windows system directory? And why is that port open anyway? Sorry just had to vent...
